Improving Sleep

Sleep is over rated. Life is too short and I want to see as much of it as I can, but according to doctors we need about 8 hours of sleep to be healthy. I have a few tips that I should probably follow myself but I’m prone to ignoring.

  1. Set a regular bed time, but if I do that most of my life is spent at work. I usually ignore this and fill that empty space with as much other stuff not involving work as possible.
  2. Turn the television off. This is a hard one because when falling asleep the tv is usually on.
  3. No caffeine before bed. I am pretty good at this but even if I wasn’t caffeine has never really effected me that way.
  4. And Finally, just go to bed. I find this to be a tough one again because I like my free time from work too much to waste it sleeping.

These is probably a short list compared to some, but maybe a few are attainable or maybe I just don’t go to work…I like that idea better.

  1. If must- sleep hour comes before I reconcile the characters’ pattern in my rough draft, then sleep has to wait. This week I’m sleeping like a baby. Thank goodness that I did not start a new book -yet- just short stories at this time. http://www.deetezellimountainstories.wordpress.com
