This morning I was thinking about where I am in my writing process. After much thought I have realized one thing, I need a strict schedule.
I do plenty of writing but nothing that is anywhere near structured. I am really a free writer that puts stories together with very little revision. I enjoy just writing small pieces on the fly and letting my AI companion proofread for grammar editing.
I also realized that the idea of a book is just not in the cards, but I also made the decision that zines are in my future. I want to create zines with my micro and flash fiction.
I was inspired by a local event that happened in our area and immediately started doing research on how to create a proper zine. It seems fairly simple and provides a great way to share my writing and other creativity. I figure I can set them up at the booth my wife has at craft fairs.
So, resigning myself to the fact that I just don’t have the patience to write a book, flash fiction and micro-fiction are my thing, free writing is my method, and zines are for sharing. All of these things I realized in a weekend.
Now it is time to go ahead with what I really enjoy and not worry about the rest. I’m my own writer in my own right and way.
