“What the fuck,” Brandon screamed as he reached for the chair and threw it against the wall.
Ben ducked to avoid being knocked out. He began to duck and dive as more objects were thrown, to include vases, glasses, and anything else that Brandon could possibly pick up and throw.
“What is wrong with you?” asked Ben.
“I lost my favorite pen. The pen that I signed my contract for my role in the latest movie project.”
Brandon started to run in circles in the room, pulling at his hair, or at least what was left of it. His face turned beet red, and it looked as though his eyes were going to burst out of his head. He hit a wall and busted the drywall and broke open the skin on his fist.
Ben began to look for the pen and saw Brandon’s face slowly return to its original color, but he was still cursing up a storm. He sounded like he was going to cry now. Ben came up and gave him a hug, and Brandon began to cry, and that is when Ben saw the pen.
He let Brandon go and walked over to the table that Brandon had been filling out some paperwork. He pulled the chair out and picked up the pen. He called to Brandon.
“Hey, buddy, I found your pen.”
Brandon turned around, and a smile appeared on his face. He was ecstatic with the glee of a young child.
“Where did you find it?” he asked.
“It was right here under your chair where you were sitting.”
Brandon danced around in circles and squealed. He gave Ben a hug and went back to what he was doing. He was in seventh heaven and ignored Ben for the rest of the evening, but Ben didn’t care. He just hoped he didn’t lose anything really serious, or he wasn’t sure what he was going to do.
As he turned away to leave, he heard a clunk of the heavy pen hitting the floor once more, followed by the stream of curses once again, but this time he didn’t stick around to help Brandon find his pen.
The last thing he heard was the crashing of glass and furniture as he walked down the driveway to his car.
