I thought this was an interesting morning. I have decided to make a few changes in my personal life, or maybe revert is a better word. I use to meditate on a regular basis and read in the morning to start my day, but I had abandoned those for a little while, and it showed.
So this morning the morning I started my habit again and I feel as though it is already making a little bit of a difference. I feel a little better about myself and keeping a little more structure helps me feel a little more put together. I’m a person that likes a little structure in my life.
Another big change is that I am starting to write in my journal to start the day again. I use this time to not only write my thoughts but do some free writing as well. It is usually very unstructured and full of just stuff but it is an important part of what I do to get my brain going.
Here is what I wrote this morning, it is called ‘The Strangeness”. It kind of relates to when I left home when I was younger and didn’t come back near family till about 6 years ago.
The Strangeness
The strangeness of the new world laid out before him wasn’t lost on him. There were things that had to be explored and things he wanted to explore. The mysteries that he needed to uncover the truth to that others might raise their noses at. He wanted to explore but more than that he needed to explore.
He raised his hand to wave goodbye to his family and climbed onboard the bus that would take him to new experiences. He was nervous but excited as well. He sat in his seat and looked out. His family was there and they had tears in their eyes. He wasn’t sure if it was sadness or maybe happiness mixed in to help him with his decision.
He heard the air brakes release and the wheels began to roll. He was on his way now to new adventures he was sure he would have. He looked to his left and then to his right realizing that every person onboard this bus was preparing themselves. He wasn’t sure what their adventures would be but he knew that he would never forget his even before they began.
