I had to think long and hard about what I would write here today. I have been struggling with my writing and using a lot of excuses I have been telling myself as to why this is happening. But it is actually pretty simple…I have become lazy.
When I say lazy I don’t mean that I’m not writing. What I really mean is when I struggle to complete something, or it gets hard, I stop and go onto something else.
I have so many stories that are partway finished or only started that it is hard to keep track of them sometimes. I have gone back to a few but I get discouraged and will quit.
With that all being said I have decided to reorganize the way that I write. I did a lot of free writing and that is usually fine for flash fiction, but doesn’t work for longer projects so I’ve started to creat a workbook for all the ideas for a story and organize them there. I am also going to start leveraging all of the tools in Pages to help with my writing as well.
I am hoping that these will get things rolling again on my book ideas because I have started down a new path for those as well…keeping things local.
